Amigurumi Bas and Sas (Sleeping-)Monkey Free Pattern

Bas and Sas (Sleeping-)Monkey

Material:

*This pattern is written for Sas Monkey. If you want to make Bas, you have to change lightpink by Scheepjes Softfun 2431 light blue and for the slippers Scheepjes Softfun 2470 beige. The buttons are blue and don’t use eyelashes.

Abbreviations:

  • nop = 4 unfinished dc in 1 st, leave the last loop from each of the 4 dc on the hook and finish them by pulling through all loops after the last dc.
  • fpdc = front post double crochet 

Head

Start with skincolor

1. 6 sc in a mag. ring (6)

2. 2 sc in each sc (12)

3. 2 sc in each 2 nd sc (18)

4. 1 sc in each sc (18)

5. 2 sc in each 3 rd sc (24)

6. 2 sc in each 4 th sc (30)

Change color to cream. Mark the 2 nd increase in round 7 as bottom-center

Insert the eyes between round 7-8 with 10 sc between the eyes

Start stuffing the head and keep doing this.

Leave enough yarn to close the circle. Pull (with a needle) the yarn through the front loops of the last 12 st and pull tight. Hide the yarn .

Insert a needle with a long thread in round 17 on the neck, right up to the back of the eye. Make one stitch higher (still behind the eye) and come out behind the other eye. Insert the needle, again behind the eye back to the neck. Pull careful so that the eyes come to rest deeper. Make a firm knot and pull it inside the neck.

Cut out two rounds of white felt, cut a piece and slide them behind the eyes with a drop of teltile glue.

Attach the eyelashes and embroider a snout.

Put some rouge at the cheeks.

Ears (make 2)

With cream

1. 6 sc in mag. ring (6)

2. 2 sc in each sc (12)

3. 2 sc in each 2 nd sc (18)

4. – round 6 (3 eounds) 1 sc in each sc (18)

7. each 2 nd + 3rd tog(12)

Fold the ear double and close it with 6 sc. Leave a long yarn to sew the ear to the head. 

Inner ear with skincolor

1. 6 sc in mag.ring (6)

2. 2 sc in each sc (12)

Make 1 sl.st and Fasten Off. Sew the ears between rounds 13-14 of the head

with 22 sc in between. Sew or glue the inner ears in the middle of the ear.

Body

Start with light pink

1. 6 sc in mag. ring (6)

Change color to light pink, stuff the hand.

From here: change color every 2 rounds. In order to make nice color changes you can make one sc more sometimes.Don’t stuff the arm.

Make some more sc if necessary (the thumb has to be at the side), flatten and close with 4 sc. Fasten Off, leave a yarn to sew. Sew the arms, after you crochetet the cuff, at the side, between round 29-30.

Cuff

With light pink in the FLO of round 12:

With the arm facing to you, yo in a front loop, at the back/inside of the arm from top down.

1. Ch2 in the first loop, 1 dc in each loop. End with a sl.st in the first dc and fasten off.

Legs (make 2)

Start with bright pink

1. 6 sc in mag. ring (6)

2. 2 sc in each sc (12)

3. 2 sc in each 2 nd sc (18)

4. 2 sc in each 3 rd sc (24)

5. 2 sc in each 4 th sc (30)

6. 1 sc in each sc in BLO (30)

Change color to white, stuff the foot.

From here: change color every 2 rounds. You can crochet 1 sc more sometimes to make nicer color changes. Stuff the leg very slightly until the nod (round 21)

 22. – round 30 (9 rounds) 1 sc in each sc (12)

Make ca. 6 sc more so that the foot is pointing forwards when you flatten the top. Close the top with 6 sc.

Rabbit ears (slipper)(make 4)

-With bright pink, ch 6, start in the 2nd ch from the hook: 5 sc. Fasten off. Hide 1 yarn, use the other yarn to sew the ears to the slippers between round 10 and 11, with 1 sc in between.

Sew or glue a small pompom at the top of the slipper.

Sew the legs in the middle at the bottom between round 1 and 6.

Tail

With skincolor

1. 6 sc in a mag. ring (6)

2. 2 sc in each 2nd sc (9)

3. – round 30 (28 rounds) 1 sc in each sc (9)

1 sl.st. Fasten off. Stuff the tail with chenille wire and sew it between round 7-10 in the middle of the back. 

Nightcap

The first 3 rounds with light pink, after that change color every 2 rounds with white.

Finishing

For the front of the pajama, with white, ch 16 (check the length). Start in the 2nd ch from the hook, 15 sc. Fasten off and sew or glue the strip, with 4 buttons, in the middle of the pajama.

Carrycot

Crochet the cot with 2 threads for stability. Crochet with hook 5.

Crochet in continuous rounds, so don’t close the rounds. Mark the end of the rounds.

With white.

Fasten off. Crochet another circle. Don’t cut the yarn.

Place both circles with the wrong side together. Close with sc (through both layers). If you are halfway, stuff lightly and continue closing. End with 1 sl.st and Fasten off.

Blanket

With 1 thread, hook 3,5. With white

Chain 43.

1. 2 dc in the 5th ch from the hook, *skip 1, 2dc in the next ch, *. Repeat around until the last 2 ch. 1 dc in the last ch, turn.

2. ch 2 (=1st dc). *2dc between the 2 dc of the previous round .* Repeat around until the last 2 st; 1 dc in the 2nd ch of the previous round.

3. Repeat round 2 until you have 30 rounds.

Crochet sc around the whole piece (3 sc in the corners) and Fasten Off.
