Amigurumi Cat Aurora Crochet Pattern

Materials

• 2.5 mm of 2,75mm crochet hook I used 2.5 mm

• Cotton yarn (I used Catania from Schachenmayr in cream (130), light blue (173), light yellow (403), blue (261), yellow (280).

• Black and pink embroidery thread

• Safety eyes 8.00 mm

• Stuffing

• Yarn needle

• Stitch marker

I used thin black thread

The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology. Instructions are easy to follow if you are familiar with basic crochet techniques.

The size of the toys is approximately 15 cm in sitting position. It may vary though depending on the kind of yarn and hook size used.

You can also use any color of yarn.

Feel free to add accessories to your very own little cats.

How to Invisible Fasten off:

Using a needle, insert it in both loops of the second stitch after the last stitch (fig 4). Then, insert it only in the back loop of the last stitch (fig 5). Secure the yarn and use the remaining yarn tail for sewing.

BODY

Use crem (130) yarn.

How to change the color of yarn:

With the two loops from the previous yarn on the hook (fig 6), wrap the new yarn around the hook, then pull the new yarn through the two loops of the stitch (fig 7).

Skirt:

Lay the body that the bottom is at the top and away from your face. Then, insert your hook in the last front loop of round 12 (fig 10, 11). Pick up the light yellow (403) yarn and pull it through.

Ch 2, crochet 2 dc in this loop (fig 12, 13), 3 dc in next 47 loop (fig 14, 15).

Fasten off.

EARS (make 2)

Use cream (130) yarn

Rnd 1: start 6 sc in magic ring [6]

Cut the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing. Don’t stuff the ears (fig 16).

ARMS (make 2)

Use cream (130) yarn.

Don’t stuff the hand (fig 17).

Change the yarn to light blue.

Lay the arm that the beginning is at the tor and away from your face. Insert your hook in last front loop of round 14 and attach the light yellow yarn (fig 17).

Ch 1, 2 hdc in this loop (fig 18), 3 hdc in next 7 loops (fig 19). Fasten off.

SHOES (make 2)

Use light blue (173) yarn.

Ch 5. Stitches are worked around both sides of the foundation chain.

Rnd 1: start in second chain from the hook: inc in this stitch, 2 sc, 3 sc in last st.

Continue on the other side of the foundation chain, 3 sc, slst in first st [10]

Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 inc, 2 sc, 3 inc, 2 sc, inc, slst in first st [16]

Rnd 3: ch 1, (sc, inc) x2, 2 sc, (sc, inc) x3, 3 sc, inc, slst in first st, (fig 20) [22]

Rnd 4: ch 1, sc* in the space (using the post of stitch) between stitches, join with slst in first st, (fig 21, 22, 23, 24) [22]

*Insert your hook from back to front through the space between the single crochet stitches. Yarn over, complete the single crochet as usual.

Rnd 5-6: ch 1, 22 sc, slut in first st [22], 2 rounds

Rnd 7: ch 1, 8 sc, 5 dec, 4 sc, slst in first st [17]

Rnd 8: ch 1, 7 sc, 3 dec, 4 sc, change the yarn to light yellow, slst in first st [14]

Rnd 9: ch 1, FLO (use only front loops): (inc) x14, (fig 25) [28]

Invisible fasten off (fig 26, 27, 28).

Stuff the shoes firmly.

LEGS

Use cream (130) yarn.

Attach the cream yarn to the first back loop of round 9.

Ch 1, make a sc in this stitch, place your stitch marker here. It will be the first st of the leg. Crochet sc in next 13 st [14]

Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in each back loops of round 9, slst in first st [14]

Rnd 2-4: ch 1, 14 sc, slst in first st [14] Cut the yarn, leave a long tail for sewing. Fasten off.

Stuff the legs firmly (fig 29, 30).

TAIL

Use cream (130) yarn.

Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring [8]

Rnd 2-16: sc around [8], 15 rounds

Stuff the tail lightly.

Cut the yarn, leave a tail for sewing (fig 31).

ASSEMBLY

Sew the ears to head between rounds 4 and 14 (fig 32). The bottom of ear should be sewn S stitches from the eye on the left and on the right and 2 stitches up (fig 33). The top of ears should be sewn 12 st between (fig 34).

Use the pink embroidery thread, embroider the small nose 2 stitches length and 1 stitch height between the eyes (fig 35).

Use the black thin thread, embroider the mouth stitches height (fig 36), two mustaches of 3 stitches length on both sides from eyes and eyebrow – 2 stitches length and 1 stitch height (fig 37, 38).

Sew the body to the head using the light blue yarn. The opening of the body should be sewn by going across each stitch of head and body (fig 39, 40). Tight the thread well (41).

Use a pin, mark the middle stitch between rounds 24 and 25. Count 4 stitches to the right and to the left. Sew the arms to the body. The front corners of each arm should be 8 stitches apart (fig 43).

Sew the legs to the body. The legs should be sewn between round 6 to 11 of the body (fig 44).

Last, sew the tail on the back side of the body (fig 45).

FLOWER and LACE

Use blue (261) and yellow (280) yarn.

In magic ring: (ch 5 + slst) x5

Fasten off. Sew the flower to the lace (fig 46).

Lace: ch 55, fasten off.

Turn the lace with flower around the neck and make one knot.
