Difficulty Level: Intermediate

Finished size: approximately 6.5 inches if you will use same yarn and

hook

Gauge: 1.75mm Hook:1 inch = 11 stitches and 11 rows

2mm Hook: 1 inch = 10 stitches and 8 rows

Pattern Notes

Stuff as firmly as you can unless otherwise specified. Stuffing is the key to make or break your doll. If the body is too big for the head, then the head needs more stuffing. If the head is too big, then more stuffing is needed for the body.

Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise specified.

Work in both loops unless otherwise specified.

You can use any yarn as long as you will use the appropriate hook size

(smaller size than the recommended one) but the size of your doll will

be different.

BALLOON SHORTS (use white)

USE 2MM HOOK

-is worked by joining each rounds with a sl st. Make the shorts starting from top to bottom. Attach a white yarn at the front loop, last stitch of R33 of the body.

Using a yarn needle, insert a red ribbon through R2 of the SHORTS. Tie a ribbon in the middle front.

To prevent the ends from fraying, you can apply nail polish or apply heat (use a lighter) to melt the fibers together.

To keep the ribbon in place, sew the back on to the SHORTS.

Crocheting the legs of the SHORTS

1.For left side of the shorts, ch 7. 2. Connect to the opposite side

with a sl st.

4. To crochet the right side of the

SHORTS, ch 2 in the last st of R7.

3. Ch 2, HDC in the same st.

– Now to make the left side of the shorts.

R1: Facing the back of the doll, attach a white yarn in the last st of R7.

–  Ch 2 in the last st of R7, (HDC, DEC) x 15, HDC, sl st. (31)
